We have a range of lasers here. Some are good for heating up blood vessels, which damages them and helps to reduce red birth marks. Others target brown pigment found in other birth marks or tattoo pigment, shattering them into tiny bits. Others target hairs and some are also good for cutting through the skin. This last one would be ‘surgery’ by my definition, but the cuts are very small. This is good for removing birth marks which are right on the surface and for reducing the texture of scars.
