A fibre laser is a laser where the active part is within an optical fibre (a normal laser has this part between a pair of mirrors).
High slope efficiency means that the laser gives out lots of light when you put lots of energy in.
Low quantum defect means that there isn’t much energy lost to heat when the laser is running.
Basically, I think Tianfu is trying to make lasers much more powerful and much more efficient.
