• Question: Tom, what you are trying to find out will it help the cosmetic industry when you have your big break through ?

      I am trying to find out lots of things. My PhD is trying to see if we can work out the properties of blood vessels in Port Wine Stain birth marks – this will be used to select better laser settings and improve the treatments we do. I’m also doing things like trying to develop new laser systems and seeing if lasers will work on other things, like skin cancers.

      I imagine some of my work will help the cosmetic industry (although that is not its main intention), but it’s mostly steady progress rather than a breakthrough
