• Question: how old do you have to be to have lazer eye surgary?

      I imagine that you could consent at 16, but if your parents were happy I guess there is no reason not to have it younger. I don’t know an awful lot about eyesight, so I don’t have an opinion of my own about whether this is good or not. Perhaps your vision is still changing at this age so it is better to wait?

      I think that you have to wait until your eyesight stops changing because laser eye surgery is a one-way process – you can’t have it reversed. I imagine that by the time you reach your late teens, your eyes have stabilised, but I’d take advice from an optician if I were considering it: they’re the experts.
