• Question: How do you think the radiation from the accelerators will benefit cancer?

      I know that radiotherapy is commonly used to treat cancer (and is done using linear accelerators).
      I think you probably wanted an answer from Mike though?

      There’s also accelerators like the Diamond Light Source that’s a synchrotron near Oxford. This is used as a really bright light source to make X-Rays, light, and other types of electromagnetic radiation and the researchers there do all sorts of work, which I’m sure involves trying to understand cancer better.
