What I like most about space is how it stretches my imagination to think about the shear enormity of it. I also like that we know so little about it, and when we think about space, we get to think about the beginning of the universe and loads of deep philosophical questions like ‘what was before the big bang?’

I don’t actually like space, because it’s scary and I don’t know what’s at the edge. Plus, as a nanoscientist I am more concerned with really tiny things not really huge things.

I like to see some of the amazing pictures that you see of stars and galaxies. It’s amazing to know that scientists (astronomers) can work out what stars are made of by looking at the colour of the light that reaches us from them.
