• Question: Do you know why people have comas and does it occur to any people?

      I don’t really know. I think it might be to do with having damage that upsets the signalling inside your brain so your brain has to |switch off” for a while to recover.

      As Tim said, it seems to be caused by damage to the brain, which could happen to anybody. If the damage is so severe that your brain can no longer let you respond to things, then that’s a coma. Your brain can recover from this, but may take a long time.

      Sometimes Drs induce comas for people who are in intensive care, but this is controlled by drugs and they can take you out of the coma again when they choose to.
